Turkey Shoot

Just before Thanksgiving, the boys participated in a shotgun shooting event at Browning.

Cycling Merit Badge

The Cycling merit badge added a mountain biking portion to choose instead of the road bike.  Our troop really liked that idea and they are working hard to get it.  One of the requirements is to do a 22 mile trail.  It was a cold Friday evening with a few snow squalls.  These scouts are awesome!

 

September Camp - Cycling

Thanks Jamo for all the memories.  Great camp at Rees' Ranch.  Two bike rides.  Don't forget to log your events as you work on the cycling merit badge.

Court of Honor

Most of the scouts received merit badges, camp patches and we had one rank advancement.  Congratulations to Chris Payne - Star Rank!!!

July Camp out - Deep Creek

What an awesome camp!!!  We were able to camp at the Turner's campground in Deep Creek.  The 11 year old scouts joined us.  It will be great to have them join us in the coming year.  Brother Eric Turner mapped out a trail that allowed us to hike 1,000 vertical feet up the Hogsback.  This helped us fulfill one of the camping merit badge requirements.

Aspen Ridge Scout Camp - 2013

Troop 179 Flag - three generations

Eight scouts attended the Aspen Ridge Scout Camp in June, 2013.  They earned nearly 50 merit badges and had an awesome time!!!
